HENRY SANDON’S ANTIQUES EVENING COMES TO STURGESS OF LEICESTER

BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow presenter hosts charity evening
in aid of cancer charity


Clear out your attics, unpack that porcelain and give your treasured antiques a dusting off for an event that is sure to enlighten all curious and seasoned antiques buffs next month, courtesy of Sturgess Alfa Romeo.

Henry Sandon MBE, well-known pottery and porcelain expert on BBC TV’s popular Antiques Roadshow TV programme, now in its 30th year and still watched by millions, comes to Leicester on Tuesday, March 23 to present his entertaining Antiques Evening in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The antiques evening, which is open to all members of the public, takes place in the Alfa Romeo and Volvo dealer’s showroom on Almond Road, Leicester. Visitors are invited to bring their cherished porcelain, ornaments, clocks and other works of art for valuation and Henry will discuss and value them while entertaining the audience with amusing stories and ‘off the record’ anecdotes about what goes on behind the scenes of the Antiques Roadshow programme.

The Henry Sandon Antiques Evening, which promises to be well attended, will start at 6.30pm sharp. Tickets, which are available in advance from Sturgess, are £5 per head and proceeds will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support. Visitors bringing items with them for valuation are also asked to make a donation to the charity. And who knows, Ozzie the owl might even put in an appearance on the night!
